Obtaining a Marriage License Make an Appointment

Kearny Mesa (Saturday Only) (858) 505-6197

Walk-in marriage license service will be available only at the County Administration Center (Downtown) and the Kearny Mesa branch on a first-come, first-served basis, and couples without an appointment may have a significant wait. Please note that Saturday appointments are available at the Kearny Mesa office. You can expedite the process by printing a marriage license form online and completing it before you arrive. It is available on the County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk Web site at www.sdarcc.com

Marriage License Requirements
California does not have a residency requirement and blood tests are not required. You do not need to dissolve your existing domestic partnership agreement if you are marrying your registered domestic partner. However, you must bring the following when applying for a marriage license:
� $50 marriage license fee (They will accept cash, check or debit card only � no credit cards. An ATM is available in the County Administration Building.)
� Each person must show one form of valid government photo identification with proof of age � both parties must be 18 or older
� If you wish the clerk to perform your marriage immediately, you can make arrangements to do so for an additional $50 fee.
