Marriage License Requirements California does not have a residency requirement and blood tests are not required. You do not need to dissolve your existing domestic partnership agreement if you are marrying your registered domestic partner. However, you must bring the following when applying for a marriage license:  • $50 marriage license fee (They will accept cash, check or debit card only – no credit cards. An ATM is available in the County Administration Building.)  • Each person must show one form of valid government photo identification with proof of age – both parties must be 18 or older  • If you wish the clerk to perform your marriage immediately, you can make arrangements to do so for an additional $50 fee.
